Who we are
Hi, I’m Ranjit Singh Chohan the founder of WiTap. The idea for this company came to me during an ordinary shopping trip, where I received a paper receipt for a small purchase. It made me think: in a digital age, why are we still relying on paper receipts that contribute to clutter, waste, and environmental harm?
Every day, millions of paper receipts are printed, most of them on thermal paper coated with chemicals like BPA and BPS. These chemicals not only make the receipts non-recyclable but also pose risks to human health and the environment. Witnessing this, I knew there had to be a smarter way to receive, store, and manage receipts.
WiTap is our step towards a more sustainable future. Our mission is to help people stay organised while reducing unnecessary waste. By digitising receipts, we’re cutting down on paper use, conserving natural resources, and promoting a cleaner planet. But we don’t stop there. A key part of our ethos is to reinvest proceeds into environmental causes, supporting initiatives that further protect and preserve our natural world.
